Going healthy doesn’t mean giving up on snacks, Next to organic fresh fruit and vegetable sticks which admittedly isn’t a very popular snacking option, Filipinos love to munch on various nibbles in between their morning, noontime and evening meals.
With this in mind, Healthy Eats Makati has carefully sourced out different kinds of snacks for people of all tastes and preferences:
For the chichirya/junk food fanatic, we have various treats made by our proud partner merchants-G Stuff taro chips, various root crop chips by Nature Earth (which also makes a popular Filipino nibbler shingaling fortified with malunggay). Take Root kale chips and Kitchenini Cassavarap, These use sea salt and herbs and do not use msg and artificial flavours, colours and preservatives. Most are baked and not fried (if ever these are fried, only healthier coconut oil is used).
For those who already snack healthy, Healthy Eats by Healthy Eats handcrafts its own trail mixes which come in fruit and nut and all nuts, organic dried fruit and raw nuts from Iran are occasionally available. Dorset Cereals comes in a variety of flavours which are nice to munch on aside from enjoying them for breakfast. Make your own sandwich with cocosugar sweetened jams and nut butters from Kablon Farms (cocojam, durian and mangosteen), Made by Max (almond) and Jacobs (peanut praline).
For gluten-free sensitive folk, on offer are a selection of chips, biscuits and breadsticks made from soy and do not have wheat. Jertie’s Kitchen and Amores Gluten-Free also bake pastries and breads for the store and cafe.
Beat the summer heat with vegab ice cream and popsicles which are cocosugar sweetened powered with super food.
And for those who have a sweet tooth, La Moderna Bakery in Pampanga bakes some of its artisan biscuits and pastries using low glycemic cocosugar.
